Day 13 – Robinson’s are still at home

Well we are still here 🙂 We did get a little more adventurous and have started exploring the wilderness behind our house. This seems to be good for all 5 of us humans but also for our pup! We have had fun, we discovered the work that is being done on the ring road behind our house.

At home we have had no schedule but have switched up our activity every so often as the noise level starts to escalate, this is my clue that a fight is coming. I have been amazed at what my kids are capable of doing. Our four year old now makes his own toast, the nine-year-old has stopped asking for us to get him a drink and they are more self-sufficient than I ever thought possible. I have started to be more firm on the tasks that I am doing for them, they can do more and they need to.

Cleaning cleaning cleaning – this is one of my kids favourite pastimes in our house! The kids love the Young Living spray cleaner and they clean every lightswitch, doorhandle and last night they cleaned the bathroom! They wanted a clean tub before they got in – I call this a win! I find it funny the different activities the kids are actually enjoying. This has been a good time for our kids to connect, fight and find some common ground. They have learned to have patience with each other, help each other and play each other’s games. This can be difficult as we have two boys and a girl and different ages, 4-9. They have had to learn how to spend so much time together, which I actually think is a good thing, this is a skill that I believe they will be able to transfer to other social situations.

We have spent our time writing stories, playing games, watching Netflix, playing PS4 and reading many stories. We have already read two novels. I now need to maybe put a more strict schedule in place, if I don’t they would play Minecraft for 9 hours a day 🙂

One thing I learned when I had my third kid was to let things go – let the kids fight and let the perfect house go. I think this has served us well in these times. I really believe this is why we have enjoyed our time so far. I sure hope our times continue to be as amazing as it has for the first 13 days, though not perfect it has been fun. I need to work on finding time for me, that is productive, not just watching the news. I need to work on my business and my own health. For the next update I hope I can share that I have found time for me.
